Tuesday

I think at this stage the only thing that keeps me posting here is the fact that I'm getting at least one person that visits.  I know that I get views, but I keep thinking that they've come by mistake, then dashed off!

To the person that visits and clicks on a reaction; if it weren't for you, I'd probably stop blogging altogether.  So I thank you for keeping me alive!  :)

Since posting about my thimble collection HERE, I had found many more little delightful ones in my travels.  I did show the ones in the first 2 photos last Monday but they were on my fabulous wooden thimble holder I had made with my own bare hands... so I thought you'd like to see them close up.  Found for the princely price of 50 cents to $1 each;

Thursday

I swear my head is going... it's disintegrating at a massive speed.

I could have sworn I had posted about the freebies below but when I went to find them on my blog just 2 seconds ago, I couldn't find anything.  I must have drempt it, right?  Ugghh.

So here are the freebies I got a few months back from a generous lady;

Strawberry bowls.  One large and five small.  I'm guessing there used to be six small bowls but one got smashed.  I had seen them often at the op shop for 50 cents / $1 so that's a great way to complete the set!

Got six of these lovely glasses.

Also six of these.

I had a nice hot Irish Coffee once in a night club many, MANY years ago.
And yes, I did thoroughly enjoy it.  :)

Friday

Too many bunnies in our house!!  Not only do we have a real one that follows me around like a little puppy dog just about wherever I go, but I NEED to collect fake ones as well.

This kitschy and cute set of ceramic rabbits was a real find.  They look vintage to me, so I love them even more for that.  Not a crack, not a chip found on any of them.

I scored the bigger ones for $1 each and the smaller one for 50 cents.  They look so yummy and edible like chocolate, right?

And how precious is this bunny egg cup, I ask you?  Scored it for $1.

Now, I can't remember what I paid for this one, but I'm sure it wasn't more than $1.50 because that's my spending limit when it comes to 'most' egg cups.

A set of 4 bunny egg cups, but found at 4 separate op shops!
Some were 50 cents, some were $1.

Monday

See this Ikea Knappa ceiling light?

They haven't sold these for years at our Ikea... so I guess they are sought after.

I found 2 that were getting 'disposed' of on the side of the road last year, if my memory serves me well.

They didn't look like they were in good shape, but I took them home and cleaned them up and they both looked a treat!  I sold the one in the photo last week for a nice price and I'll sell the second one soon.  :)

Onto something completely different.

I really amaze myself sometimes.  Even after amazing myself, then accepting that I'm amazing, I still amaze myself.  lol.  I should really let my vanity go and just realize that I'm just plain AMAZING.

Some of you know that I collect thimbles.

So a few months back I started looking on Ebay for thimble cabinets, holders, units etc.  Have you seen the prices on those things??  Well I have and it's enough to make your eyes pop out of their sockets.  So then I thought gee wiz, I could try making one myself.  I didn't need anything fancy, just something cute to sit them on.

And here it is!!!!

Ok I know it's not perfect, but I'm more than happy with my handy work.  My mother bought up a good point when she saw it though.... she said I should have popped a little shelf right down the bottom.  She could be right, and I might just do that in the near future.  The thimbles you see are only about half of what I have, so I may make something else but a little bit different.  :)

Thursday

I'm such a sucker for many things, including mini perfume bottles.  I don't care whether they are full or empty.  I just love them.  Here is a classic blast from the past;

I remember Sea Jade by Yardley, but I never wore it.  The smell is fresh, but I'm not really able to describe that well.  It's not a horrible smell and it doesn't even smell old... but it's something I'd probably never wear unless I was desperate for perfume.

And here I am in possession of Sea Jade and it only cost me $1.99.  Now, when I found the bottle at the op shop it wasn't actually in the box.  Something made me vigorously rummage through the basket of knick-knacks that it was in, and I miraculously found the box.  I'm so glad I did!  Do you know how rare it is to find something vintage like this WITH a box?

3 more mini's found at a different op shop for $2 each;

Perfume unknown - it has such a cute little top;

The lovely Ysatis by Givenchy.  I remember buying this once in the 80's and I adored it, so I must buy it again some day.

Another unknown perfume, but gosh the bottle is a vintage-y kind of lover-ly;
