Free Stationery

It helps us day to day, it keeps us organised, it uses up space on our desk and it's free.... well at least for some of us.  What is it?

It's stacks of envelopes....

It's a Jungle Scrapbook...

It's a pencil...

It's an Incredible Hulk Notebook...

 And something to carry it all in.

Plates, plates, more plates!

I was going to say that these are my latest pretty plate finds, but I'd be telling a lie because in actual fact I found them a few months back;  Funny how the cheapest is the oldest!

$1 for this...

 $2 for this...

$3 for this...

Don't bottle it up....

When somebody was offering 'free bottles, some decorative' in my favorite advert paper online, I just couldn't resist.  The ad was not in the freebie section (where it should have been and where I always look) and I came across it by chance.  Thankfully I was looking in the right place, at the right time.

I dashed to a small house, with a sign out front and near a window which said 'baby sleeping, please keep the noise down' or something along those lines.  I was almost petrified to knock on the door, so I knocked every so gently, but I wasn't heard.  I knocked a little louder and I was suddenly greeted at the door.

I certainly wasn't expecting such nice (empty) bottles from that lovely lady!

This one is my favourite.  At the moment, I keep it in the bathroom and I've placed a cork stopper in it;

A rather masculine bottle, and I'll let you use your imagination as to what's on the other side;

Oh ok, I'll show you!

Kaiser Stubl wine bottle, because it says so on the other side;

Triangle bottle, no kidding;

This was either liquour or wine... but after smelling the inside - it was more than likely wine, but honestly what would I know? hehe.

Love the grapevine design on this one;

Ugly at first sight... but it has some ships on the back;

But that's not all folks!  I will show you more of what she gave me tomorrow.   :)   E.T.A a few days later; oops!  Forgot to show you, but I will soon!

Oh so shady

 I posted a few weeks back about how I found these 3 lovely light shades for $2 each -->  Light Shades

I also promised I'd show what I already had - the exact same shades on a couple of bedside lamps that I found for $10 each at another op shop last year.

Now all I have to do is convince my dear husband to replace our existing bedroom ceiling light shade to another, so I can pop those on.  A matching set is oh so much nicer.

Miscellaneous for free

I'm not concentrating on any particular freebie here, so sit back and take a look at this, that and the other.

I know there is nothing oh so fabulous... but these things can always be very useful!   The last one is my favourite.  :)

Cane handles from an old bag.  And let me tell you, the bag wasn't a sight for sore eyes.

Fly wire.  Hey I guess it could come in handy one day.

4 glass LED lights.  All they need is batteries to work.

Plastic container.   It's great that it keeps my kitchen pantry a little more tidier.

A few months back my niece scored a vintage suit case.  In it was this piece of paraphernalia from 1956 and she passed it onto me.  Why am I holding on to it?  I don't know.... maybe because it's just old?  Click on it to see what it says.

And lastly for today is this rug.  My niece had reservations about me throwing it in her car boot, but I insisted.  A few weeks later I sold it for $15.   I could have kicked myself for not advertising it for $20.  tee-hee.

Noritake

The Noritake brand has a somewhat interesting history.  Read about it here;

Noritake History

So what did I find a few months ago?  A Noritake 'Coram' design coffee / tea pot in pristine condition.
I'm telling you, this pot has no faults whatsoever.  Whoever owned it last must have stored it away immaculately and had not touched it.  I can't even find scratches!  What a good score, at only $4.
And how much is it to buy new?  The dearest one I've found is this from a yahoo shopping site;

Woohoo!  Here's mine....

Brownie Downing

Brownie Downing Australian pottery is highly collectible.  Read a little about her here;
 Brownie Downing History

So when this gorgeous little plate was passed onto me, I was excited.  Firstly because it's indeed a Brownie Downing miniature plate, and secondly because I collect the miniatures.

I remember it from the 1970's hanging on a wall of the old house we used to live in and I had always admired it, especially how his little butt is exposed for all to see!

It was hardly ever touched of course so the condition is excellent.

I scoured the internet to find another, and the only one I found is here, about half way down the page;

Free fabric & sewing supplies

Yes, I can even get sewing supplies along with fabric at absolutely no cost.  Free! Free! Freeeeee!
People just toss out the oddest things.  By odd, I mean... why can't you pass it onto a friend? Or a family member instead of throwing it away?

Go on, enlarge this one.... I know you want to.  ;)

Not something I'd make for myself, but the pants might be good...

My sewing skills are basic - intermediate.  I can fix hems, I can sort of follow a garment pattern (as long as it's easy), I can make button holes and with some difficulties, I can manage to sew in a zipper.... but not without a bit of cursing.

More Avon...

If I hadn't seen what was written on the bottom, I certainly wouldn't have bought it.
But 50 cents got me a 1979 Avon bottle.  It's not the prettiest thing, but I have a feeling it's rare because I can't for the life of me find anything remotely similar while searching online.

Rare or not, it's still Avon.  :)
