Tuesday

Personally, I'm not liking this new blogger set up.  Maybe it's because it's new and I've still yet to learn how to navigate my way around, maybe I just don't like change, or just maybe.... it's because I'm already finding it difficult to find something I want!  Either way, it's no use complaining so I may as well be at peace with it.

Found for free;

Gold of the Pharaohs book.  Not in great condition on the outside with its bent spine, but pretty good on the inside and quite interesting.

Three unused citronella candles.  Seriously?  Somebody actually threw these out?  Yep.  I guess they figured summer was over with no more mozzies to keep at bay.  People never cease to amaze me.

And found at the same time, a normal candle on a glass plate.  No, the diamantes on the candle AND the place don't make it look any prettier, sorry!

Found for free...

80's Aussie Nostalgia

Some inside pages have come out, but at
least it's a clean separation

Large piece of fabric, and there's
plenty to make a dress

These metal squares are magnetic - heaps of fun designing stuff on the fridge! lol.

Wednesday

Did somebody say 'heatwave'?  No thanks.  I can't believe how hot it's been lately and I can't even think straight from the heat.  Dear Lord, please let it be over soon? Amen.

I was delighted to find this book last year, 1987 Ed.  It has a wealth of information in it, including knitting in the round - which is the only reason why I knit today, how-to's, patterns, techniques with diagrams and even some knitting history!

And I got it for half price at $2.50.

Tuesday

A little sweet cabinet found for free.  Absolutely nothing was wrong with it - apart for those odd mismatching handles.  I did replace them with two of the same eventually.  I keep my little crafty bits and pieces in it - just perfect!

Free Childcraft books from the 1970's or 1980's.  I did see more of these (possibly the whole set) in the junk pile, but they were water damaged due to the fact that it had been lightly raining a few days before hand.  Oh well, four are better than none, right?

And lastly for today.... A free old top, turned into cute art.   As you can see, the top was stretched, a little faded and too ugly to wear so I salvaged and saved poor Winnie the Pooh in a frame.  How cute is that?

Love-er-ly brass frame with a love-er-lier lady inside for only $4;

And a nice little vintage crochet / knitting booklet for 50 cents;

Monday

Avon Topaz cream lotion decanter found for $2.  That's what it read on the bottom sticker before I washed it.   If I had known the sticker was going to peel off, I would have taken better care.  The last photo shows the sticker BEFORE washing it... Le sigh.

Very cute glass pear found for $1.99.  I call it a 'thingy holder'.  It has 'Italy' and the number 28 at the bottom.   I'd love to find an apple and other scrumptious fruits available, but I don't know if they actually exist.
