Dear fellow free pickers, junk collectors, op shop finders and all other sorts of thrifty people,

It's finally come to that crucial point.  I've less to show you these days, yes that's right!  This past year or so I had been showing you all the cool stuff that I had accumulated these past few years (some much older) and now that I've been 'collecting' less because of lack of space for it all in and outside of my home, I'll have to blog less than usual.  

But don't fret my fellow trashies and treasure finders, because there will be a time in the near future when I'll gather more.  But in the meantime...

A good assortment of freebies found:

Magazines passed onto dear hubby.

No attachments with this Kodak camera where found, but easy enough to find.

Tee shirt in new condition.  Not my style, but for some unknown reason I'm holding on to it for now.  The sleeves are a little tight and it has an odd fit.  Maybe that's why they trashed it.

 It's plastic and I love it.  My mother has one just like it and I like to think that I found it's twin.  I might change the plant to something more lush to hide the ugly brown pot inside though.

Simply 'a fish'.  Wooden and golden and ready to hang somewhere, like in my car.

Oh, to be free.

Freebies galore.  They are never ending... and filling up my home.  I'm frightened of becoming one of those hoarders that I've seen on that program, what's it called?  Oh yes that's right, she says with sarcastic undertones, 'Hoarders'.



Beautiful Italian scarf.  It's oh so sheer and flimsy;

 

Woolen drop stitch scarf.  It's lighter in weight than what it looks;

Passionfruit & Guava body scrub and bath bomb.  I've not opened the scrub, but I bet it smells yummo.

Patron Tequilla bottle.   Please don't ask me why.  I guess it would make a nice vase.  It did have a label on it, but I cleaned it right off.  I discovered through ebay that it came with a perfectly round cork.  I, of course found it without the cork which is a shame because it would have looked oh so much nicer.

Woman's Weekly knitting magazine from the 1980's and believe me, I wouldn't have grabbed it if it didn't have at least a couple of cute designs in there.  The sweaters on the front cover are NOT one of the cute favourites:

Finally, I don't know how large this beautiful piece of fabric is (possibly 2 x 2 metres-ish and is thick enough for what I need it for), but I know it's way more than enough for a project I'm trying to finish:

Where am I?

I'm shocked to discover that I've not posted since Thursday.  Can somebody tell me where the time has gone?  Like dear hubby, I wish every weekend was a long weekend.  But I know if we had a three day weekend, we'd whinge about wanting a four day weekend... and so on.  Five days off and 2 days on would sound pretty good to some people, yes?  Am I right, or am I absolutely right?

Onto some free finds; books and magazines.  I read magazines but I don't read novels.  In fact, I've never read one in my whole life... shock, horror for some I'm sure.  But not to me.  The only thing I've read and still read is my trusty Bible.  A paragraph or two per night does the trick to keep me sane and on track.  Not many people know this because I do not broadcast it to the world - but don't let it surprise you, because it shouldn't be a surprising thing in this day and age.  I won't go into it too much because after all, this post is supposed to be about once again, books and magazines.

When I was in primary school, the only books I borrowed from the library were the Berenstain Bears, The Aristocats and Asterix.  

I was so excited to find this on someone's trash pile and a flood of memories came to haunt me while flicking through it the next day.  In pristine condition and it's in French, no less.

Everybody needs a dictionary or two in their personal library. Open up the front cover and it hangs by a bunch of sturdy threads.  The rest of it is just fine though.

In the nick of time for some June gardening. 

 And being a lover of all things wood, it was interesting that I found these.

Yes, these free finds will keep me busy while waiting for my next bunch of books and magazines.
